Join us to discover how groundbreaking microbiome research is changing our perspective on health! The well-known saying “You are what you eat” takes on a new meaning with insights into the deep connection between food, our gut, and our brain. The fascinating “gut-brain axis” is a communication channel between our digestive system and brain, playing a surprising and emerging role in conditions such as Parkinson’s and depression. At the University of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam Microbiome Expert Centre, significant progress is being made to understand how our gut microbiome affects both our health and the environment. But what does this mean for you?
On 13 February 2025, we are pleased to welcome Kristina Campbell, an expert in gut health and author of Gut Health for Dummies, for a talk in Amsterdam. This event, hosted by the UvA, Parkinson’sFonds, and Amsterdam Green Campus, will provide unique insights and practical tips to improve your gut health. After her presentation, there will be a Q&A and a panel discussion featuring experts from science and from outside academia, such as patients and food activists. Your ‘gut feeling’ will contribute to future research.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, reflect, and contribute to a healthier future!
