About 90 technical support colleagues from different departments were given the opportunity to take a tour with their technical colleagues elsewhere at Science Park. Among the participants were colleagues from the Technology Centre, the labs of SILS, HIMS, IBED and IoP, Heijmans, Central Warehouse, Purchasing, GAM, ICT, Facility Services and practical assistants from ESC. The idea and organization were in the hands of Bas van Beusekom (IBED), Bas de Jong (HIMS) and Gideon Meerhoff (SILS).

The tours were diverse. There was the opportunity to learn more about the algae labs of IBED at Microbial photosynthesis, visit the synthesis labs at HIMS, a tour of the technology centre, the server rooms of FNWI-ICT, and Heijmans facilitated a behind the scenes tour of the building installations of our faculty. Unfortunately, the tour of the greenhouses could not take place, so it will have to wait until a next edition that will hopefully be organised.

The tours were followed by a delicious barbecue and the opportunity to catch up and learn more about each other's work. With a great sun in place, this was gladly done. It turned out to be an interesting and fun afternoon, which might even lead to new promising – technical - collaborations.
