Vacancy for SILS representative in the Faculty Council

We have been looking for someone that would like to represent the SILS PhDs in our Faculty. Note: the vacancy deadline is closed. For more information on the selection process, contact the SILS PhD / PD Council.

What will you do?

You will collaborate with PhD representatives from other research institutes at our faculty to represent the needs and whishes from PhD candidates. As SILS representative you will collect information from PhDs of our institute on a wide variety of issues like contracts, work environment, education, information provision, and psychological and physical health. To keep the lines short, you will preferably also be part of the SILS PhD and Postdoc council. More information about the councils can be found one page up and on the Faculty website.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone enrolled in the SILS PhD programme (so you are already a PhD candidate in one of our research groups) who is interested to listen to and learn about PhD issues and also likes to address them on a faculty scale. Ideally, you are able to start as soon as possible since there is currently no representative from SILS in the council.

What will you get?

You will gain insight into the organizational structures of the faculty and will help to address potential issues that exist within the PhD community. This experience is valuable for a future career at any university or other large institution. In addition, you will be working in a team with fellow PhDs from different backgrounds which is a great opportunity to increase your network.
For every year that you are active as a council member, you are eligible for an extra month to receive the finishing on time bonus.
