Diversity and inclusion

Diversity is important and something to celebrate. Our aim is to foster a diverse and inclusive academic community where staff and students feel at home. We want everyone at SILS to be able to develop their capacities fully and contribute to the identity of our university and institute with their own unique personality, background and talents.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee at SILS

We are currently working on setting up a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee in SILS. Members of SILS that are interested to join are welcome to contact us. This can be personally or via email: .

The committee aims to increase awareness on diversity-related matters, stimulate a diverse work environment and serve as listening ear for anybody who needs one. 

The meetings of the committee are open and will be announced in the SILS events. Feel free to join if you want to contribute, learn more about the committee and its activities or have something to share on this topic. 

Diversity policy 2018

SILS aims for a diverse and balanced population of employees and students. We have therefore implemented a diversity policy to supplement the UvA Diversity Policy.
