- Cell & Sytems Biology;
- Neurosciences, and
- Molecular Life Sciences.
The research group of Bacterial cell biology & Physiology investigates, using a combination of theoretical and experimental approaches, how microorganisms with contrasting lifestyles, namely photoautotrophs and chemoheterotrophs, have evolved to exploit and respond to different environments. We aim to use this knowledge in sustainable biotechnological applications. In this context we are seeking for a Research assistant to help run the laboratory and provide assistance on the active research lines of MMP while assisting in the practical training of students from different academic levels.

You will be performing laboratory work in the fields of molecular biology, analytical chemistry and biochemistry and will also carry-out microbial (photo)cultivations in highly controlled bioreactors using organisms such as Cyanobacteria and Lactic Acid Bacteria, amongst others. Furthermore, you will be expected to assist in the practical component of different educational activities, such as BSc. and MSc. internship projects and practical courses.
