Dr. Rick Helmich wins the 2012 Dutch Neurofederation PhD thesis prize.

The Dutch Neurofederation is proud to announce that the winner of this year's prize is Dr. Rick Helmich (UMC Radboud), with his thesis 'Cerebral reorganization in Parkinson's disease'. Rick will receive the prize and give a lecture at the ENP meeting in Lunteren on May 30th, at 17.30 hr.
An honourable mention goes to two young neuroscientists: Dr. Yoav Noam (SILS-CNS, UvA) for his thesis ' Mechanisms of HCN Channel trafficking and surface expression' and Dr. Christiaan Klink (Helmholtz Institute, Utrecht) for his thesis ' Neural mechanisms of context-driven conscious visual perception'. The jury, composed of Prof. Dr. Cools, Prof. Dr. Lopes da Silva and Dr. van Dam, received 14 nominations from supervisors of universities and research institutes throughout the Netherlands.

The Dutch Neurofederation PhD Thesis Prize is an initiative of the "Friends of the Dutch Neurofederation" and is a reward for the thesis work of young neuroscientists and an incentive for them to continue their career in neuroscience. The prize is presented annually, at the Endo-Neuro-Psycho (ENP) meeting.
